Pennsylvania Could Decide the Election

//
5 mins read

Once again, FiveThirtyEight has called out Pennsylvania as potentially the most important swing state.

According to their presidential forecast, “Pennsylvania is by far the likeliest state to provide either President Trump or Joe Biden with the decisive vote in the Electoral College: It has a 31 percent chance of being the tipping-point state. (That’s what happens when you take one of the most evenly divided states in the union and give it 20 electoral votes.) In fact, Pennsylvania is so important that our model gives Trump an 84 percent chance of winning the presidency if he carries the state — and it gives Biden a 96 percent chance of winning if Pennsylvania goes blue.”

CTC is completely focused on Pennsylvania, and we are confident that we have the tools to succeed. But we can’t do it without you! Join us to call Pennsylvania voters to help them cast their votes safely in this critical election.

If you want to get involved but don’t want to make calls, please email us. We’ll find a comfortable way for you to help out. Or donate here to support our efforts!

Phone Canvassing Continues!

CALLING PEOPLE YOU KNOW IN PENNSYLVANIA

An effective way to engage voters is through our already existing relationships. Whether it’s reaching out to Pennsylvanians we think are at risk of not voting, or at risk of not being registered to vote by mail, or even just at risk of not using their own networks of relationships, reaching out to people we know is another proven way to make an impact. Do you know anyone in Pennsylvania – even one person? Join us to use Deep Canvassing to reach the people we’re most connected to and make sure they vote this November!

CALLING STRANGERS IN PENNSYLVANIA

Engage with voters through storytelling and deep conversation. We are now offering two different calling groups, known as veteran and rookie pods, in order to give you an ADDITIONAL 75 MINUTES on the dialer if you have been a consistent CTC phone canvasser!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF MOVIE NIGHT —
SUPPORTING CTC!

Join us for a special Zoom fundraiser on Tuesday, September 22nd at 8pm, offering a sneak peek at the hot new documentary “Boys State” and a conversation with the filmmakers.

“Boys State” won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. We’ll be showing clips from the film and talking with directors Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine along with Steven Garza, one of the politically engaged high school seniors featured in the film.

A question and answer period will follow. The filmmakers know about the work CTC is doing in Pennsylvania, and they are excited to connect with our volunteers and support our effort.

“Boys State” — which Rolling Stone called “absolutely compelling” and Variety dubbed “a revolution in vérité filmmaking” — chronicles a mock election among Texas high school seniors. It’s an entertaining and revealing microcosm of America today, and an inspiring look at the energy young people of all stripes are bringing to the electoral arena.

Tickets are $25 ($10 for students).  Register here.

OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Want to help us stop Trump but not sure if deep canvassing is a fit for you? CTC is searching for all sorts of volunteers to help us with technical, logistical, and other aspects of our operation, both virtually and on the ground.
