Royal Oak Area Democratic Club (ROADC): March Meeting

Saturday, March 4th (10am – 12pm)

Our guest speaker will be Kimber Bishop-Yanke of Kids Empowered. This organization provides workshops for children and parents to manage emotions and deal with bullying.

OCDP Executive Committee: March Meeting

Tuesday, March 7th (7pm – 9pm)

OCDP’s Executive Committee will be meeting a week earlier this month, on the first Tuesday rather than the second, to plan for the State of the County Address on March 14th. Join us next Tuesday, March 7th for updates from the Chair, Treasurer, Committees, and more.

OCDP Topgolf Fundraiser

Sunday, March 12th (2pm – 5pm)

Swing into 2023 with Oakland County Elected Officials at the OCDP’s 3rd Annual Topgolf Fundraiser! Tickets will be sold through March 6th, 2023.

Fems for Dems: Spring Forward with Fems

Wednesday, March 15th (5pm – 7pm)

Join us and many of our favorite Dems to celebrate our 2022 wins and spring forward to elect the next crop in 2024! Light refreshments will be provided. Address available upon RSVP.

North Oakland Democratic Club (NODC): March Membership Meeting

Wednesday, March 15th (6:30pm)

Join the North Oakland Democratic Club at Clarkston Union Bar & Kitchen. Oakland County Commission Chair, Dave Woodward will be this month’s speaker.

Women at Work: Women’s History Month Celebration

Saturday, March 18th (11am – 1pm)

Join us to honor Women’s History Month and celebrate the hard-working women of Oakland County, past, present, and future. Engage in conversation with special guests and meet women of all ages from Oakland County. Hosted by the OCDP’s Women’s Rights, Young Dems, and Membership Committees.

Black History Month Walk-Through: Southfield Municipal Campus

February 1st – 28th

Walk through Black History front lawn display and Black History activity bags & t-shirts

2023-2024 COMMITTEE SIGN-UPS

According to the Oakland County Democratic Party Bylaws, we have several standing committees. If you are interested in getting involved with any of our committees, please sign up here!

Communications | Works to establish strategies and tactics for communicating via social media and with local newspapers.

Political Organizing | Conducts and supports all candidate and organizing activities of OCDP through Precinct Delegate recruitment and allocation, voter registration and outreach, as well as candidate recruitment and screening. 

Rules & Bylaws | Serves as an advisory committee on matters pertaining to the rules and bylaws of the OCDP.  

Finance | Conducts fundraising activities and periodic reviews of how the budget is operating. 

Fundraising 

Resolutions | Receives and reviews proposed resolutions for study and recommendation. 

Membership | Recruits and retains OCDP members.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion | Ensures the OCDP represents and supports the broadest possible participation without discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived bias through training programs, supporting activist groups, and identifying ways for the OCDP can improve its representation.

Community Support | Supports all charitable and service activities of the OCDP by areas of need and community service activities that OCDP could promote, donate to, or participate in.

Education Subcommittee | Advocates for an education system where ALL students feel safe, welcomed and supported in meeting high academic expectations. We will do this by recruiting prospective school board and trustee candidates, partnering with other education stakeholders and providing resources and training opportunities. 

Young Dems | Works to expand participation and involvement of young people in the Democratic Party and the electoral process. 

Women’s Rights | Ensures the OCDP represents and supports the broadest possible participation without discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived bias through training programs, supporting women’s rights groups, and identifying ways the OCDP can improve its representation. 

LGBTQIA+ Rights | Ensures the OCDP represents and supports the broadest possible participation without discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived bias through training programs, supporting LGBTQIA+ groups, and identifying ways the OCDP can improve its representation. 

African American | Ensures that more African American candidates are part of the political process in Oakland County, and work towards greater participation from African Americans in the OCDP through training, supporting African American Rights groups, and identifying ways the OCDP can improve its representation.
