Events this week show the urgent need to continue on Biden’s path of building back better. Another mass shooting. Georgia’s elected leaders going full Jim Crow 2.0. Full GOP hypocrisy over the so-called border crisis. We sorely need gun reform, immigration reform, voting reform and filibuster reform — all are essential to creating a society that values and safeguards the people in this nation.

DemCast writers shared personal stories to paint the bigger picture of where the U.S. succeeds and where it fails. Our writers provided unique perspectives on how grassroots activism impacts issues far larger than individuals. And a number of our writers talked about the For the People Act, showing how this vital legislation will touch on so many aspects of American life. If you haven’t had the chance to read this week’s article, we invite you to do so!

DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks, but are sustained solely on donations from grassroots supporters. Because our revenue isn’t click-driven, we don’t take in any direct revenue from the creative contributions of grassroots activists who post on the site. This sets us apart from other media sites. And we’re proud of that.
