We’re in the final moments of the Tokyo Olympics and a lot has happened in the past week. This week, we are talking about the COVID-19 vaccine and how we can use messaging to convince people to get vaccinated. Anat Shenker-Osorio, a communications expert, shares with us how difficult it is to spread the truth about the vaccine when the disinformation is spreading at the same time — but gives us valuable, potentially life-saving pointers.
Our own Co-Content Director Rena Korb explains how the California campaign to recall a Democratic governor is actually more broken than most people realize (but also points out some of the fantastic things Gavin Newsom has done for the state). Sarah Jones-Popiel argues that since conservatives only want to hear what they want to hear, we should talk to them on their right-wing-rant terms about getting vaccinated. Lastly, Hank Cetola clearly refutes one of Republicans’ biggest talking points right now: No, GOP, the woes in our country aren’t President Biden’s fault.
