LWID Texas in deep freeze

Despite the excruciating disappointment of the second acquittal of the former president, who else breathed a sigh of relief to finally — at least for now — be spared from hearing his name or seeing his picture on our screens? We licked our wounds from the impeachment effort, crying a few tears along with Rep. Jamie Raskin, Before we got complacent, however, and because this is the United States of America, another crisis was just around the corner, and it had Texas in the crosshairs. The eyes of the country turned helplessly toward the big, bold state that spawned the likes of LBJ now felled by winter weather and an irresponsible power grid.

In keeping with this week, DemCast writers explored the meaning of the impeachment verdict and the need for accountability before moving forward from the 1/6 attacks, the tragedy in Texas and the hypocrisy of Republican officials particularly Sen. Ted Cruz, and the unconstitutionality of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
