I can’t believe we’re here. Just hours away from the polls closing, I wanted to share what we’ve accomplished together.

Since election day 2018, Future Now Fund has endorsed 201 candidates and funded critical state legislative electoral work in 15 states: Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We’ve partnered with groups like Arena, NDRC, Statehouse Media, and Vote Save America to support these inspiring candidates who could be the difference-makers in their states.
And the way we’ve spent these dollars is especially effective, due to our close in-state relationships and proprietary research, which allow us to determine where dollars are most needed and will be best spent. As the Washington Post reported this weekend about the majority of our program: “Future Now Fund’s spending, by coordinating with campaigns, is designed to go further than independent expenditures; the cost to put a coordinated ad on TV is half or less of a full third-party ad.”
And, through this tumultuous time, Future Now Action has expanded its policy program to provide to-the-minute support for lawmakers as they navigated unprecedented challenges, including addressing the health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, police brutality and systemic racism, and mail-first elections.
Three years ago, I left the New York State Senate because I wanted to focus on our country’s political crisis at its source — state legislatures dominated by special interests and the radical right-wing. But I could not have imagined that we would reach this scale in the 2020 cycle, build the incredible team we have at Future Now Fund & Future Now Action, or engage the powerful community of supporters who have become part of this effort. I’m proud that we have raised more than $20M for this overall state legislative effort this cycle. This was only possible because of all of you who came together and committed yourselves to organizing in your own (virtual) backyards to fight for a better future, now.
Let’s do what it takes these next few hours to have the best possible electoral result across these states and our country, so that together we can have the greatest possible impact to improve lives over the coming months and years.
Thank you,
Daniel
