Why the Media Needs a Major Reset in the Age of MAGA Extremism

With one party becoming authoritarian and promoting dangerous lies, “both-sidesism” has become a threat to our democracy. Dan Froomkin (PressWatchers.org) joined us to discuss how the media should respond to, and cover, the current threats of MAGA extremism.

Here are the Slides from Wednesday’s event for your enjoyment.

7-8pm EDT
Monday meeting

Join the Media and Democracy Project to better understand and respond to the factors that influence public opinion, voters and democracy. Each session we will activate on a current information-related subject to help Fix Media Now. We develop and distribute skills to navigate the Information War on truth and democracy. We are a non-partisan all-volunteer group that engages in actions to directly improve the quality of public information such as messaging, fighting disinformation, engaging in media accountability and in growing support for local journalism. We see journalists and the media as accountable allies essential for an informed democracy, countering dangerous disinformation and propaganda and promoting the common good.
