In the 2020 election, voters in major metropolitan areas showed up to deliver victories for Democrats. In many of our key battleground states, those same voters will go to the polls to choose a new mayor and city council this year.
This gives us a great opportunity to register new Democrats to vote in elections that will affect their everyday lives. But just as important, once those new Democrats are registered, they’ll be able to help deliver even larger majorities in Congress in 2022 and win back state legislatures and governorships in places like Georgia and Texas.
We’re investing in long-term organizing efforts in 17 cities.
Tucson, AZ. Miami, FL. St. Petersburg, FL. Hialeah, FL. Atlanta, GA. Charlotte, NC. Raleigh, NC. Greensboro, NC. Durham, NC. Pittsburgh, PA. Philadelphia, PA. Fort Worth, TX. San Antonio, TX. El Paso, TX. Arlington, TX. Plano, TX. Garland, TX.
Many of these cities, especially the ones in Texas, currently have Republican mayors, but their cities are trending blue. That means we have the opportunity to win right now. The Texas mayoral elections are May 1, 2021.
With registration deadlines coming up fast, we have just a few weeks to get new Democrats registered and mobilized.
Can you chip in now to help flip these crucial states?
