THE HOLY GRAIL
We’ve found a list that could make the difference between Trump winning or losing. As our speaker Alan Solomont related this week, fully a third of the electorate in 2020 will be young people. This dataset is how we reach them. The list is made up of 2.7 million public college students across our 12 battleground states. A smaller subset of those have phone numbers and/or emails. About half are not registered to vote. Our goal is to register all we can as Democrats, and to sign up everyone to vote by mail. The list cost $50,000 – and we gladly went underwater to pay for it. Now we need to raise the money for that, and more money for the voter contact we need to fully unlock this list’s potential. We’ve run initial tests on 100,000 Florida college students, experimenting with different messaging and methods of contact to determine the most effective approach. Without revealing our secret sauce, the results reveal we’re going to need a specific sequence of phone banking, text banking, emails, and targeted internet ads. In the coming weeks we’ll be setting up phone banks in our 12 battleground states! But to fully contact these crucial voters, we’ll need donations to execute the text/email/ad programs that complete our plan. And we’ll need volunteers to lead these phone banks, to run the back end of our upcoming voter registration app, and to spearhead the outreach that comes with this expansion! We can and will do this. I don’t know any group of people more uniquely qualified than YOU to make these dreams come true. So let’s goooooo!!!
