People, Power, Progress: Election 2022
It’s 2022, and it’s time to act. Indivisible Chicago-South Side joins with Indivisible Chicago Alliance (ICA)to make a difference in the future of our nation.
A Message from Indivisible Chicago
Citywide Indivisible Chicago Alliance writes: Historically, midterm elections are not kind to the party that holds the White House. But 2022 is not just another midterm election. Across the country, red state legislatures are trying to rig the future by attacking the freedom to vote and installing election officials who will overturn results they don’t like.
Meanwhile we are still grappling with a disastrous pandemic and watching helplessly while a delusional dictator wreaks havoc in Europe and threatens to start World War III—both crises exacerbated if not created by the Republican party’s front runner for president in 2024. We simply cannot sit this one out. The future depends on us.

You can win this fight. We will show you how. We are watching the trends, counting the votes, talking with the campaigns, constantly looking for the ways you can make the biggest difference. Join us. Together we’ll make history.

People Power Progress – Campaign Launch
Did you make it to the online launch of the People Power Progress-Election 2022 campaign? What a powerful line-up! Here are some takeaways.
Wisconsin was the tipping point in 2016 and 2020 – and it could be again in the 2022 midterms, said Ben Wikler, Chair of WisDems. Paula Martinos-Mantay, founder of of SWIM, explains that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer “has been our firewall when it comes to saving our democracy.”
ICA’s Marj Halperin with Ben Wikler & Paula Martinos-Mantay at People Power Progress launch event
Both guests said Wisconsin and Michigan welcome the treasure, time, and talent of folks like us in Chicago. Together, we can help those states elect candidates who’ll protect American democracy and voting rights.
Kina Collins speaks at the People Power Progress launch event
Indivisible Chicago’s two endorsed congressional candidates in Illinois – Kina Collins in IL-07 and Delia Ramirez in the new IL-03 – told how they will bring their energy to Washington to fight for Medicare for all, protection for our planet, equity, an end to gun violence, and more.
Our friend Bill Mengebier and other members of of the board of the Indivisible Chicago Alliance told us ICA is bringing back in-person canvassing while continuing to offer an array of opportunities to reach voters in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois by texting, phoning, and postcard writing.
ICA provides all the training and support you need – and welcomes seasoned activists as well as newbies! (See ICA’s message below.)
