Last week the nation was again focused on the Chauvin trial as additional instances of Black and Brown people dying at the hands of police came to light. DemCast’s Danielle Eaglewarrior and Rena Korb are putting together a powerful series of images and words to convey the magnitude of this problem, so keep checking back on DemCast. Meanwhile, you can see a small sample of their work in The Week That Was.

Of course, our writers were also concerned with other issues. We shared an important piece from Teri Kanefield discussing the lawsuits Capitol police officers have filed against the previous president for injuries they received during the Jan. 6 insurrection. Frequent contributor Hank Cetola explained the filibuster, and Nicholas Grossman discussed Republican efforts to steal elections by passing laws designed to make it harder to vote.

Immigration continues to be an important issue as the Biden Administration attempts to bring humanity and caring back to our policies at the borders. The Calitaliano Kid, Dean Wallace and Vivian Leal each brought their own unique perspective as immigrants and expats to DemCast USA.

We hope you will take the time to see what you missed Last Week in DemCast. We are very proud of our writers, graphics team and editors who are working hard to bring you interesting and informative articles every day.
