Pick One, or Better Yet, Pick TWO!  Sinema/Filibuster –  Gosar/AFPAC

#1 – ARE YOU SOS??

SICK OF SINEMA
and her support of the Filibuster?

IT’S TIME TO TELL HER WHAT YOU THINK!
The following information is provided by AZ Indivisible

HERE’S WHAT TO DO –  CALL, EMAIL, TWEET, TEXT, VIDEO TWEET  KYRSTEN SINEMA – WHY???
The creaky Senate Filibuster, which allows Senators to lift a finger to stop any legislation, will prevent passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, as well as a slate of reforms to strengthen our beleaguered democracy. The equally obsolete Byrd Rule would potentially prevent attaching a $15 federal minimum wage to the budgetary provisions of the COVID relief bill.

TELL HER if she supports the FOR THE PEOPLE ACT (which she says she does) she must vote to eliminate the Filibuster.

TELL HER ARIZONA NEEDS THE FOR THE PEOPLE ACT to fight back against our AZ Republican Legislator’s attacks on our voting rights.

TELL HER if Mitch McConnell can change his mind about supporting Donald Trump, you can change your mind about the FILIBUSTER! Remind her that WE put her in office and she should vote in the best interest of her constituents.

Gosar is Keynote Speaker on White Nationalist Stage (AFPAC)!

#CallYourDentist to
#RemovePaulGosar Immediately

Paul Gosar, congressional poster child for the insurrection, continued legitimizing white supremacy this past weekend, by speaking with white supremacist Steve King and holocaust denier Nick Fuentes at AFPAC. He skipped Friday night’s vote on the stimulus bill to attend a white nationalist conference in Florida.
Rachel Maddow breaks it down here(start at 27:59)

Gosar’s AFPAC participation reinforces with stark clarity that he sympathizes and strategizes with white supremacists.
Congressman Gosar must be seen and described as a radical insurrectionist and white supremacist.

SOME GOOD NEWS

In a 57 to 3 Vote, the Arizona House Passes Legislation Allowing Community Colleges to Provide Some Four Year DegreesIn what could be major tuition savings for Arizona college students, the Arizona State House passed, by a 57 to 3 margin, a bill that would allow Community Colleges to offer four-year degrees for some programs.
Yavapai College’s vice president of academic affairs said that if YC made the decision to move forward with offering a baccalaureate degree, from the point of that decision and depending on the degree program, it would likely take at least a year of development and an additional year to eighteen months for approval from our accrediting body. (Daily Courier 3/1/21)
Currently a four-year degree in Elementary Education is available from a partnership between Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University. Other degrees are offered on-line only.

DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks. If you appreciate our content, please consider a small monthly donation.

Prescott Indivisible was founded in 2017, when Paul Hamilton and Nicole Romine put an ad in the local paper, requesting local progressives to show up at the library. Over 100 people lined up. In short order, we had formed a local chapter of the national Indivisible movement. Within six months we adopted a set of Guidelines that sets the framework in which we work, designed a logo and printed and sold t-shirts. Our mailing list quickly expanded from 100 to over 1,200. We usually have 100 or more attend our general monthly meetings.

Prescott Indivisible has a strong track record of activism. We adopted the team concept: Communication/Events; Voter Education and Elections; Education; Environment; Human Rights; Immigration and Peacekeepers to assist with safely issues. Initially we had a steering committee that consisted of volunteers. After our guidelines were adopted, the steering committee is made up of elected officers and members at large and the heads of the various teams, or their designees. A diverse group of community activists, social justice advocates and others that have volunteer ties to non-profits and religious organizations, the steering committee assists the teams when asked and sets the agendas.

Our teams and their members have worked diligently to make their voices heard. We have made thousands of calls, mailed hundreds of postcards to our legislators in Arizona and in congress. We have collaborated with like-minded organizations to advocate for issues of crucial importance to Arizona and the nation.
