This past week the Supreme Court dispatched the biggest, most desperate and most cynical Trump lawsuit, and we all let out a sigh of relief. Texas had sued Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia over election procedures, asking SCOTUS to throw out the votes in these 4 states. Perhaps even more stunning, 18 states (plus “New California” and “New Nevada”) joined Texas, and 126 Republicans members of the House supported the lawsuit, including members who had just been elected by those same voters they were trying to erase. Oh, wait, as the Trump regime ever so slowly comes to an end, does anything have the power to stun us anymore? Fortunately, Teri Kanefield broke it all down for us.
As we sailed through Pearl Harbor Day, several DemCast authors evoked a bygone WWII era of shared sacrifice and common good. We also explored other issues: how our nation’s children are struggling under distance learning, why Russian religious refugees are so fond of Trump and what the future of gerrymandering might look like. And DemCastUSA signed on to the For the People Act (H.R.1), which strengthens and clean up our government. Clearly, it’s not enough for Joe Biden to merely disinfect and wipe down the White House before moving in, we need to deep clean the whole country.
We invite you to catch up on any stories you missed this past week.
