America Needs the For The People Act

DemCast USA is proud to announce that we have joined 29 other non-partisan organizations to call on Congress to pass the For The People Act (H.R.1/S.949). This act prioritizes protecting and strengthening the right to vote, ending the dominance of big money in politics, and implementing anti-corruption, pro-ethics measures to clean up government.

You can read the entire letter by clicking on the hyperlink. It notes that without the reforms in this act, as well as the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act (H.R.4) and legislation granting statehood to Washington, D.C. (H.R.51), our nation will remain unable to fully address important substantive priorities for the American people, such as expanding affordable healthcare and stopping the spread of COVID-19, protecting the environment, and creating millions of good-paying jobs.

There is also a petition that you can sign which calls on President-Elect Joe Biden and Members of Congress to make H.R. 1 one of the highest priority items to deal with at the start of their terms.

DemCast is an advocacy-based 501(c)4 nonprofit. We have made the decision to build a media site free of outside influence. There are no ads. We do not get paid for clicks, but are sustained solely on donations from grassroots supporters. Because our revenue isn’t click-driven, we don’t take in any direct revenue from the creative contributions of grassroots activists who post on the site. This sets us apart from other media sites. And we’re proud of that.
