State Representative, Julie Rogers, represents the city of Kalamazoo and she will update us on legislation in the Michigan House.

Thank you for your continued support and participation! Together we will make a difference!!

Apportionment Meeting!

The Allegan County Apportionment Commission voted on 9/28 to approve a map that would reduce the representation in Allegan County from 7 commissioners to 5, even though Allegan County is in the top 5 fastest growing counties – up 8% since 2010.The commission meets again on Oct 20th to vote again on the maps.

We have just learned that the vote at Wednesday’s meeting is now the OFFICIAL vote! We need every voice to speak up for a minimum of 7 districts and a FAIR map.

Please attend in person, if possible.

MICRC Hearing

Grand Rapids at DeVos Place on Oct. 22,

Please call Helen if you can join her!

We need to throw our support behind a winnable district on the lakeshore of Allegan County. This could be historic!

Let’s thank Big Gretch!

Both signs are $10 each. We have them in our office. Whitmer signs have same message on both sides. Democrats believe has Democrats Serve the People on the back.

We encourage you to join the Rural Caucus of the MDP. Our goal is 2,000 members and there is no cost to join! Each monthly meeting features a great speaker to learn from. Together, rural Democrats across the state can make THE difference in our statewide elections! Join now!

October Monthly

Business Meeting

Thursday, October 28, 2021

6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

We are meeting in-person

at the library next to the office!

Agenda

This will be a test of who is really reading the newsletters. We hope you can join us at our next Business Meeting. We need to seriously consider moving out of the office.

The rent has tripled, but more importantly participation is way down. Can we really justify spending $300 on office rent? We need you to show up at our business meetings and participate – or why do we need an office?

Looking forward to seeing you on the 19th or 28th of October.
