Please help PACK THE COURTROOM on Thursday October 21st at 1PM – Loudoun County Courthouse, Room #2D – to sit in silent solidarity in support of Katie Orndoff and to stand against misogynistic beliefs, patriarchal and archaic systems and domestic violence victims everywhere.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and as Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Domestic violence and sexual assault are the most underreported crimes in America. We need to put fully vetted judges on the bench who are required to undergo domestic abuse and sexual violence training before being empowered by the gavel to make decisions in the lives of victims.

Last month, you’ll recall the case of Ms. Katie Orndoff playing out at the Loudoun County Courthouse, which we also discussed on the Friday Power Lunch, Judge James D. Fisher refused to hear her motion to vacate the arrest charge he levied against her as she was providing painful testimony to the court, and then he dismissed the matter. Her attorneys have since filed an emergency motion which will be heard this week. This hearing is necessary to uphold Katie’s constitutional due process rights and to clear her record of the contempt charge Judge Fisher erroneously entered against her, throwing HER in jail as she bravely stepped forward to testify against her assailant.

Show Up, Show Out, Show America

This past week Virginia has been in the headlines, from the Friday Power Lunch, Kojo Nnamdi show to Stacey Abrams’ presence with Rallies & Souls to the Polls. We are the bellwether state and our efforts in the next 13 days will make the difference. In the words of Stacey Abrams, Virginia must “Show Up, Show Out, Show America”!
