Why a Liar and His Followers Have Teachers Worried About School Health

A con man, reality TV actor wanted to win re-election so he lied about COVID-19 and made masks and vaccines political. Meanwhile, he got COVID and only survived because of the science he publicly shunned, and then also got vaccinated. He suffers zero consequences and here we are today…

His gullible followers are flooding hospitals and sending their kids maskless and unvaccinated to school. They continue to refuse to listen to science and instead get their news from Facebook and YouTube, and those outlets aren’t doing enough to police this dangerous current of lies.

They shout that it is their liberty and freedom to not get vaccinated or wear masks, while holding the rest of the world hostage to their idiocy … taking away our collective liberty and freedom.

I’m watching my fellow teachers head back to the classroom terrified for everyone and powerless to do anything. We are being bullied by people who still follow a man who got banned everywhere including Pinterest. Pinterest!

What is the endgame here? How many more people need to die and get sick, including those who have been following the science? I try to be an optimist and look for the good in others, but I am at the end of my rope watching what is going down with the Delta variant.

I know writing a thread on Twitter about this is useless, to say the least. However, aside from doing all I can to educate others, including my students, I really don’t know what to do anymore. OK, that’s all for now. Stay safe out there.
