Stay Safe & Fight for Voting Rights!

We’re counting down to June 15, when California officially reopens. We at IEB hope you and yours stay well as we enter this new phase of our individual and community lives. Meanwhile, some things aren’t changing — we’re still fighting, and this week we ask you again to take action to get the For the People Act passed. The Senate will vote this month on this crucial voting rights bill and we need you, and everyone you know all over the country, to call your Senators every day. Read our article and our action below and help make history!

Action: For the People Act, FFS

Deadline: June 21 – You’ve read our past actions and our earlier article about the For the People Act (S.1). Whether you’ve done anything before or not — it’s make or break time now. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he’ll bring a vote on S.1 in the Senate the week of June 21. That means there’s just a little time for us to make a lot of noise, so every Senator and the Democratic leadership — including President Biden — knows this is top priority. And tell our Senators we expect them to be leaders. Call now with the call script below; read more and find many more actions in our article. And pass it on to everyone you know!

What to say:

My name is __________, my address is _________, and I’m a member of Indivisible East Bay. I’m calling about the For the People Act. This bill is top priority, and I want the Senator to do everything possible to make sure it passes. I hope the Senator will get all [his/her] colleagues to support and vote for it, and let President Biden, Senator Schumer, and all leadership know it’s not negotiable. Any Senator who opposes voting rights or opposes this bill must know that their opposition is unacceptable. If passing the bill means reforming or getting rid of the filibuster — then that must happen.

We Could Not Make This Up

Hey there, Marjie girl, makin’ up your facts so fancy free … Her latest Covid Conspiracy rant: a letter to Prez Biden with lots of her top hits, demanding answers — by June 31, 2021. How’s never for ya, Marjie? June, moon, did someone say spoon? Who’s gonna tell the Alex Jones crowd that the vaccine doesn’t make you magnetic? And speaking of not gonna happen, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) asked a National Forest Service official whether the Service or the Bureau of Land Management could fight climate change by altering the orbit of the Moon around the Earth, or the Earth around the Sun. Oh Louie, Louie, you’ve really made the grade, but we’re not sure you pass … School’s Out, folks. Go home.
