VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE & CANVASSING

We are excited to have a voter registration and canvassing event this Saturday morning (May 29th), from 9 AM-12 PM. We will meet at the CCDP Office and then go to two highly Democratic precincts. We will talk to voters in these precincts about what issues matter to them and make sure that these voters in important precincts have an opportunity to register if they have not already.

It is absolutely vital that we start our voter outreach now to prepare for building a strong position for 2022 and beyond. The canvassing event is just the first step in the process of creating a Blue Wave in the Lowcountry! Please sign up using the button below.

RECAP OF CHARLESTON DELEGATION TO SCDP CONVENTION

As we have discussed in recent weeks, the SCDP Virtual State Convention was last week. CCDP was allowed 121 delegates (half men and half women) and an equal number of alternates. We ended up selecting all 121 delegates but only had 94 alternates. We would like to extend our gratitude to the 105 people who actually participated and voted.

Trav Robertson, Jr., of Richland was elected Chair of the State Party; Lessie Price of Aiken is First Vice Chair; Anthony Thompson, Jr., of Lexington is Second Vice Chair; and Jalen Elrod of Greenville is Third Vice Chair. We congratulate all of them and thank them for their willingness to lead the Democrats of South Carolina.

MESSAGE FROM THE DORCHESTER COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY

As we continue our efforts in working within the tricounty area of the Lowcountry to strengthen the cooperation between the three county Democratic parties, we would like to bring you a message from the neighboring Dorchester Democrats.

If you are relocating into Dorchester County, please know that they have a strong and organized leadership team over there. To get yourself in contact with their welcome committee, please go to www.dorchesterdemocrats.com, click on “Contact Us”, and fill in your information. They would love to get to know you!

SCDP: READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE?

If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please take time to consider running for office. The South Carolina Democratic Party has put out a form for individuals to express interest in running. You may think that it is too early to start thinking about this, but electoral success will require carefully laid out plans, which in turn require time. You can access the link via the button below.
