Brian J Smith studied Soil Advocacy with Kiss the Ground and is eager to share the miracles of nature. Brian is passionate about farming and regenerating the soil. Wear your hiking boots – we will be in the barn and in the pastures! Arrive between 6-6:30, so we can start the program at 6:30 pm sharp!

July 17th – Little John Lake Park – 3540 113th Ave, Allegan, MI (Saturday, not Tuesday in July only)

Our picnic with the 6th Congressional District starts at 3 pm. Our topic will be Community Health, with Lisa Evans from Community Action of Allegan County giving an update on their activities. Plus we are working to schedule a representative from the Allegan County Health Department.

August 17th – It’s time for our annual Potluck at Pickle Street School – 2980 134th Avenue, Hopkins, MI. Our speaker is Ken Freestone, who will teach us about composting!

September 21st – Allegan Tech Center – 2891 116th Ave, Allegan, MI

We are planning a star-studded panel on Regenerative Agriculture. We will meet in the auditorium at the Tech Center. Plus we will continue to offer the Zoom option.

November 16th – Julie Rogers, State Representative 60th District

Location: Allegan Tech Center, 2891 116th Ave, Allegan, MI

State Representative, Julie Rogers, represents the city of Kalamazoo and she will update us on legislation in the Michigan House.

December 21st – It’s time to party! Join us for our annual Holiday Party. We are in the process of selecting a venue and confirming our speaker, so stay tuned for more details. We are exploring an option for hors d’oeuvres with dessert to keep the cost down.

Our County Committee, elected each November after the general/midterm election, will now be meeting on the last Thursday of the month via Zoom. We have openings on this leadership body, so please email Jill to learn about how you can move the democratic agenda forward in Allegan County. This meeting will be focused on setting goals and making commitments. All members are welcome to attend, however only County Committee members are eligible to vote.

The momentum is shifting! We have a fabulous President making bold moves. Get involved to make Allegan County more Democratic!

Check out our Allegan Fair booth panels!

This word cloud will be our side wall at the end of the exhibit building. Sooner or later  we can also use these at festivals as life begins to return to something more normal. All panels are 10′ x 8′.

Pitch in a few dollars!

These two panels will go across the back wall of our booth at the Allegan County Fair.

We encourage you to join the Rural Caucus of the MDP. Our goal is 2,000 members and there is no cost to join! Each monthly meeting features an engaging speaker. Together, rural Democrats across the state can make THE difference in our statewide elections! Join now!
