An Open Seat in Texas

1 min read

Friends,

Last week Texas’ 6th Congressional District became an open seat, with a special election coming soon. This is the first competitive special Congressional election of the Biden era. The former Representative won the seat in 2020 by just 29,977 votes in a district that’s increasingly purple.

In the Field Team 6 database, we have 30,012 cell phones for unregistered likely Democrats. We can help give the Democrat who runs for this seat a critical winning edge.

But we have to act quickly. The special election will likely be in the spring, leaving just weeks to raise money so we can start registering new Democrats in the district. We need to raise $5,079.78 by February 28th to launch our efforts in March.

The vast majority of these voters will also be able to cast their vote in the Arlington, Texas mayoral election. The current mayor is Republican Mayor Jeff Williams, who is expected to leave the seat open (and vulnerable) so he can run for Congress.

So every Democrat we register here can help flip two elections!

Can you chip in now?

Thank you!

In Solidarity,

Field Team 6
