Last week DemCast writers looked to the future, discussing changes needed to our inhumane immigration system and lessons we should learn from our past history of racism. We were part of a successful movement to get Facebook to protect Georgia election workers and published a piece speaking out against chauvinism in the Wall Street Journal. Because it is the holiday season, one of our authors convincingly jumped into the never-ending debate about whether Die Hard is a holiday movie. If you missed any of these articles, here is your chance to catch up.
One month from today, Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the next president and vice president of the United States. While we are counting the minutes until the inauguration, we need to remember that despite what the outgoing president says, we are under cyberattack by Russia. The pandemic still rages, breaking case, hospitalization and death records each day. Please be smart. If you live in the California county where a judge ordered restaurants reopened, please use your brain and follow doctors for medical advice. Stay home, so that we can all celebrate together this time next year.
