Quick notes for today on our post: (tinyurl.com/Antiracist-events-Ventura).

Two great events this evening (of course…)

Read the whole plan on the Facebook link here: (https://www.facebook.com/events/2858344477824275/)Register for the event here: (https://bit.ly/32Iw9mS)

5:30pm – 6:30pm: BreakThrough Student Assistance Program is sponsoring “Supporting Your LGBTQ+ Child.” This FREE event will provide parents/guardians with best practices, resources and tools to support the unique mental health needs of their LGBTQ+ children. Petitions to watch out for!: Our county’s great environmental community has put out an alert. Watch out for an army of paid signature gatherers outside our stores trying to push a petition to reverse the Board of Supervisors recent decision to require the oil industry, even those with ancient permits, to comply to modern regulations for new wells, instead of just polluting our earth, water, and air, like it was still the 1940’s. Don’t fall for their lies. Don’t let your friends and neighbors fall for them. And if you have time and energy, go stand 6′ feet away from the petition gatherers and tell people the truth. There’s also a signup sheet for brief shifts at your local store to make sure we’re catching most of them.(https://indivisibleventura.org/2020/12/02/wed-12-2-were-being-scammed-again-by-big-business-this-time-in-ventura-county-dont-sign-the-oil-industrys-petition-to-pollute/)

The following are continuing actions…

Wake the Senate up! Monday was their first day back from vacation, and it’s time for them to do their job. Call them to push through the HEROES Act! The GOP is trying to flip the script, saying that House Democrats are responsible for the hold up. But the same Senate that gave $1.7 trillion in tax breaks to our richest, proposes crumbs for us, and MORE COVID liability protection to corporations. (See: “Tyson Managers Suspended After Allegedly Betting If Workers Would Contract COVID”) (https://indivisibleventura.org/2020/11/30/mon-11-30-tell-the-senate-to-pass-the-heroes-act-now/)

Keep calling/email Governor Newsom’s office to choose a Black woman to replace Kamala Harris in the Senate: Action and script here. (https://indivisibleventura.org/2020/11/24/tues-11-24-gov-newsom-do-the-right-thing/) Governor Gavin Newsom: (916) 445-2841 email: (https://govapps.gov.ca.gov/gov40mail/)
There are also two petitions: Black Lives Matter: (https://blacklivesmatter.com/tell-gov-newsom-he-must-appoint-a-black-woman-to-the-senate/)Black to the Future: (https://black2thefuture.org/lets-go-forward-not-backwards/)

Want to help out in Georgia?
We have tons of phone/textbanking opportunities on our site here, (tinyurl.com/Antiracist-events-Ventura). There is a definite need for bilingual assistance as well.

We’ve put together a separate page of resources for the shy and introverted, who never thought they would ever phonebank here.
(https://indivisibleventura.org/phone-banking-for-the-rest-of-us/)None of us are the same people we were in 2016 – try out something new!

If you’d rather write, there are four postcard options and two letterwriting options listed here.(https://indivisibleventura.org/2020/11/09/georgia-on-your-mind-write-gotv-postcards-to-their-voters/)

Need help? Want to help? Keep track of volunteer and donation opportunities here.https://indivisibleventura.org/2020/11/23/giving-and-receiving-during-this-pandemic-season/

This one has just started!
