How Susan Collins Has Changed: Her Loyalty to Mitch McConnell at the Expense of Mainers

Susan Collins has Voted with Mitch McConnell 93% of the Time, Still Supports his bid for Continued Leadership of the Senate

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell’s tenure as Senate Majority Leader has been bad for Mainers. Whether it’s pushing tax cuts for the wealthy and corporate special interests at the expense of everyday Mainers, or his quest to fast-track the appointment of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court while refusing to allow a desperately-needed stimulus bill to comet to a vote, Mainers can’t afford another two years of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Senator Mitch McConnell has worked for the last 35 years to push through an unpopular agenda to eliminate decades-old campaign finance rules, cut taxes for corporations and the rich, and pack the federal courts with judges who ignore legal precedent to erode civil rights

And since he took the helm as Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell has been on the wrong side of nearly every issue important to Mainers:

Despite this, Susan Collins continues to support his agenda, voting with McConnell 93% of the time, and his bid to remain in control of the Senate as Majority Leader. And in return for her loyalty, McConnell has ensured Collins is “well-funded” by McConnell’s network of Republican mega-donors and corporate special interests.
