Michelle Obama kicked off the first night of the Democratic National Convention by calling on millions of Democrats to step up.
She’s asking all of us to come together and fight for what we believe in: “We have got to vote like we did in 2008 and 2012. We have got to show up with the same level of passion and hope.”
She’s right – with everything that’s at stake, no Democrat can be on the sidelines right now.
Even before her speech, the former first lady was already making an impact on these elections – advising Democrats that only by working together can we “create the change we are all hoping for.”
Trump and his state Republican cronies are stirring up anger and division because they think that’s their ticket to stay in power. Democrats need to be the party of unity – showing strength and compassion while aiming for victory in November.
Michelle Obama is right: Democrats can’t let Trump’s vision for America become a reality.
