As recently as February, Moody’s Analytics’ historically accurate election model predicted Republicans were on a “glide path to reelection” and that “nearly everything” seemed to be going the GOP’s way.
But in their most recent update, this model flipped from showing a GOP blowout to now projecting a Democratic victory in 2020.
Most importantly of all, Moody’s new projection says that Democratic energy and turnout will determine the final outcome:

Moody’s model still shows that the November elections could swing either way.
A red wave for state Republicans is still on the table if we fail to hit this month’s fundraising target. Trump and Republican legislators are doing everything they can to exploit the global health crisis to suppress Democratic turnout – and if we don’t have the resources to counter those efforts, Moody’s says these elections will turn back into a GOP blowout.
But, if Democratic energy and enthusiasm reach the heights we know are possible – like we saw two years ago – this model says there’s NOTHING Trump and state Republicans can do to stop us.
