Our nation was born of rebellion. Yet today it seems fashionable to silence and punish those who disagree with us, thereby diminishing their right to participate in our democracy.
In a year of historic activism, that attitude isn’t just unconstitutional, it’s fundamentally un–American.
Our politicians and policymakers should end their assaults on the people’s right to know and stop hiding behind the cloak of confidentiality. Free us of policies and laws that serve only to stifle dissent, suppress our votes, silence our voices and discourage public protest.
Stand up and speak out for the people.
