RESIST AND PERSIST

(WE CAN DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME)

****RESIST****
LESSON 8 FROM

STAND OUT

One person, couple hours outside Flagler Hospital Saturday February 15. The responses were surprisingly somber. THOUSANDS of eyeballs saw this.

CALL YOUR REP AND SENATORS!On Monday, the DOJ made their sentencing recommendations in the Roger Stone case, based on the face that he is actually a criminal who lied under oath. Overnight on Monday,
Trump tweeted out the unfairness of the sentencing recommendation. Tuesday, the DOJ announced a revision to the recommendation. Then, the four DOJ prosecutors resigned in protest of the intervention of Attorney General William Barr.

Then Barr announced that that he will be controlling all aspects of cases related to Trump (like the Stone case) which Trump is pleased about. Barr has agreed to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on March 31, but that seems much later than needed.  Regardless of Barr’s willingness to testify, this is a disturbing and dangerous politicization of the DOJ and is not the behavior of democracies.

Minimal script: I’m calling from [zip code] and I want Sen/Rep [___] to know that we are very concerned about the following unacceptable actions by Attorney General Bill Barr:·

  • setting up a Giuliani information backchannel·
  • taking over all Trump-related cases (how can we even be saying this!)·
  • slashing Roger Stone’s sentencing recommendations

SPEAK OUT WHENEVER YOU CAN! VALENTINE’S DAY IN THE ST AUGUSTINE RECORD:

IDES OF TRUMP POSTCARD PARTY MARCH 5 2:00 PM

SCRIPT FOR POSTCARDS
On March 15th, each of us will mail Donald Trump a postcard that publicly expresses our opposition to him. And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with his unpopularity and failure. We will show the media and the politicians what standing with him — and against us — means. And most importantly, we will bury the White House post office in pink slips, all informing Donnie that he’s fired. Each of us — every protester from every march, each congress calling citizen, every boycotter, volunteer, donor, and petition signer — if each of us writes even a single postcard and we put them all in the mail on the same day, March 15th, well: you do the math.

No alternative fact or Russian translation will explain away our record-breaking, officially-verifiable, warehouse-filling flood of fury. Hank Aaron currently holds the record for fan mail, having received 900,000 pieces in a year. We’re setting a new record: over a million pieces in a day, with not a single nice thing to say.So sharpen your wit, unsheathe your writing implements, and see if your sincerest ill-wishes can pierce Donald’s famously thin skin.

Prepare for March 15th, 2020, a day hereafter to be known as #TheIdesOfTrumpWrite one postcard. Write a dozen! Take a picture and post it on social media tagged with #TheIdesOfTrump ! Spread the word! Everyone on Earth should let Donnie know how he’s doing. They can’t build a wall high enough to stop the mail. Then, on March 15th, mail your messages to:

President (for now) Donald J. Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

STOP PUD FOR RIBERIA STREET

According to Reuben Franklin, our Public Works Director, Riberia St. is termed a “collector street.”  That means smaller cross streets in Lincolnville and Model Land neighborhoods feed into Riberia, “collecting” cars as they make their way towards King Street to get out onto US1.  Part of the Sebastian Harbor PUD specifies a 165 unit apartment building and parking garage to be built just south of the intersection of Riberia and King St.  PUD developers project this garage will generate an extra 1,200 trips a day added to the trolleys and trains already there.

No matter where you live in St. Augustine, If you’re concerned about encountering a big traffic jam every time you come to this busy intersection, you’re welcome to the yard sign, below.  Contact, sagresta@comcast.net to ask for one. (We’re asking for a $2 donation to defray the printing/shipping cost.)
