Access to quality, affordable healthcare is a right — and it can save lives.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As the most commonly diagnosed cancer, this month is a time to remember the Americans who have been lost to this disease, celebrate the survivors, and continue the work to find a cure.

Erica, it’s likely that breast cancer has touched someone you know — a neighbor, family member, friend, classmate, teacher, or even yourself. And that’s why ensuring every single person has access to receive quality, affordable breast cancer screenings or access to the best possible treatment to beat the disease is absolutely essential.

The key to ensuring breast cancer is detected early is by expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare coverage — whether it’s through affordable health insurance or ensuring community health providers like Planned Parenthood have funding to continue to provide free cancer screenings across the state.

As we near the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to take a moment to recommit to the fight to expand access to affordable healthcare across Ohio. Will you add your name to our petition today?
