Members of the Central York School Board made national headlines for banning resources and books by and about women and people of color — and they’re up for re-election in just a few weeks.

Watch the CNN clip of the students fighting back against the racist, sexist, and xenophobic resource ban. Then, chip in to the Democrats running to defeat the Republicans who passed the ban!

Then, take action! Sign up to phone bank with the Citizens for Central York School School Board candidates and remind folks to VOTE! Or, write postcards to register PA voters!

Among the banned materials are Malala Yousafzai’s autobiography, children’s books about Barack and Michelle Obama, Hidden Figures (based on the popular movie), and even a Sesame Street Town Hall on racism.

Defeating right-wing extremists on PA’s School Boards this November will send a message nationwide that we won’t tolerate book bans and attacks on women and people of color.

At Turn PA Blue, we’re working on the ground for local school board elections across the commonwealth.

Check out the CNN clip of PA students protesting the book ban in York now. Then donate to our work unseating these school board members in November!

Then, take action! Sign up to phone bank with the Citizens for Central York School School Board candidates and remind folks to VOTE! Or, write postcards to register PA voters!

Thanks for taking action today.
