What part of No Recall don’t you understand?

DEADLINE: The recall election is September 14 –

Still unsure what to do about the recall election – do you really need to vote? or if you already did, what else you can do? First – yes you need to vote, and vote against the recall. If Newsom is recalled, the lead candidate by a wide margin to replace him is conservative talk-radio host and Trump supporter Larry Elder. You should be hearing alarm bells at that name in light of the latest headlines: Elder lists himself as pro-life and supports overturning Roe v. Wade, leaving abortion laws up to the states. Is that what we want in California, as Texas outlaws most abortions and the Supreme Court lets the law go into effect, and as the Supreme Court itself is about to hear a case that many experts say may lead them to overturn Roe?

Not bad enough? Elder also believes there should be no minimum wage or protection against pregnancy discrimination in the workplace; no vaccine or mask mandates, no environmental regulations on low-income housing, and no welfare spending. He’d be an unnatural disaster for the state.

What you can do:

  1. Watch: Missed the Stop the Recall presentation at our August 29 All Members Meeting? You can watch it here.
  2. Vote No! There’s still time to vote:
    • Mail in your ballot – no postage required!
    • You can also drop your ballot in a 24/7 ballot drop box – find locations of drop boxes in Alameda County here, or in Contra Costa County here.
    • And check this list of early voting and drop-off locations.
    • Not registered, or know someone who isn’t? You can register the same day as you vote in person at a polling place or vote center after Sept. 4. Find more info on requirements to register to vote here.
  3. Help! There’s still time – Find and sign up for lots of events to Stop the Recall at this list, which updates every day

Don’t let California fall to a Trumper on our watch. It’s up to us – tell all your friends, and take action!
