CCDP OFFICER ELECTIONSWe will be holding a virtual convention to elect a new Chair and Vice Chairs for the Charleston County Democratic Party next Thursday, March 18th. We are excited to announce the slate from the nominating committee:

2nd Vice Chair: Feidin Santana
3rd Vice Chair: Sagid Elhillali
Nominations from the floor are also eligible. The nominating committee makes a non-voting recommendation that Erica Sampson be the Director of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
As we mentioned in our newsletter last week, it is March, which means that it is Women’s History Month! We are doing a series on social media recognizing wonderful women of South Carolina past and present. Look out for it on our social media channels!

| MON MAR22 6 PM | LWV Good Governance Symposium Series Session 2: Redistricting The second session of our Good Governance Series will explore the impact of redistricting on our democratic process, and also look at “best practices” that will keep our maps from being gerrymandered. This session will offer a “Redistricting 101” by Ruth Greenwood of the Campaign Legal Center to ground attendees in the importance of this topic. Ruth litigates a variety of redistricting cases, with a particular focus on ending partisan gerrymandering and promoting minority representation. We will then hear from redistricting experts in South Carolina, who will explore implications of local and state redistricting in South Carolina. Please note that this event is virtual.
