The Week That Was

Trump In His Own Words

This week Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial opened, so it’s no surprise that DemCast’s featured artist, David Bythewood, has several captivating (and creepy) Trump images to share with you. Read more about what inspires David’s work:

I’m an old school computer tinkerer; I first got a taste of computers in grade school. We had enrichment classes for a handful of us and I learned to program on a Commodore 64. I am mostly self-taught, though I double major in English and journalism, minored in theater in college, and that taught me about layout.

I used to think what I did was pretty common. These last four years taught me otherwise and pushed me to advance my skills and explore new techniques and boundaries. I do it because if I can make one person smile or laugh or think or learn and help them get through the day, through all of this madness, I feel better. It’s the same reason I took on the persona of the Blue Lantern; hope is something you share, and it comes in many forms. Sometimes that’s a silly meme or a thoughtful infographic or a powerful image that shows none of us are alone in all of this, and right now, during this pandemic, we need to be reminded of that more than ever.
