Reclaim Our Vote (ROV) has phone banks in both Georgia and North Carolina. Given the information we have about voters being purged from the rolls, ballots being rejected, and poll places closed, voters in these states need our help now! In Georgia’s Bibb County, it is estimated that there are 154,659 inactive voters and 692,287 voters who have been dropped from the polls. In North Carolina there are 424,088 unregistered voters and 237,014 inactive voters.

Elections Are Won by Doing the Grunt Work
“I signed up to talk to voters, but I rarely get a live person on the phone.”

We hear this a lot. And yes, it is true the phone bank work right now is grunt work. But this is the deal. These calls are doing three very important things:
- They are cleaning up lists so that when we go into October and Get Out the Vote is in high gear, these lists will be productive.
- This work identifies voters and volunteers.
- And if you reach only one person, that person could help protect voters at the polls or get three of their friends to remember to vote. It is a pebble dropped in a pond.
JP Thomas, the Regional Voter Protection Director for Wisconsin, said this recently, “Our recruitment phone banks are a higher priority than our hotline.” We absolutely have to recruit poll observers and poll workers.
What is it that Trump just said a few days ago in North Carolina “Watch it. Be poll watchers when you go there. Watch all the thieving and stealing and robbing they do. The only way Democrats can win is by doing very bad things.”
Come on grunt team! You can do this.
Resistance Labs Every Single Day!
Resistance Labs has been texting pretty much every single day (and will continue through November 3!) for groups like Black Voters Matter, Power the Polls, Vote from Home 2020 and many more, as well as for specific candidates in strategic races. These texting campaigns help folks vote by mail, recruit poll workers and other volunteers, and just generally get out the vote for Democrats!
They use Spoke to text and Slack for communication and support, AND they have live texting parties every Wednesday evening on Zoom! A nice perk of texting with RL is that when you’re done texting, reassigning your conversations (so that you don’t have to manage replies that come in over the next few days) is as easy as clicking a button in Spoke!

Moving From Postcards to Phone Calls
We’re winding down with postcards but we’re not finished yet! We’ve almost met our goal of 40,000 postcards for September, so we’re upping that goal to 50,000 postcards by our final—FINAL—mailing deadline of October 10th.
We’re writing to voters in Fulton County, GA, epicenter for voter suppression tactics in 2018. Join us in turning these voters out to vote for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. Sign up HERE
