With just over two months until the November election, we need all of the help we can get to ensure we elect Democrats up and down the ballot. We are excited to announce new tools that will make contacting voters easier and more efficient.

The most important task you can undertake as a volunteer is to phone bank. This year, that will be easier than ever with VPB Connect, a tool on virtual phone banks that allows you to make hands-free calls straight through your computer. You don’t need to use your phone number or Google Voice! You might wonder why phone banking is the number one priority for volunteers. Well, every time someone answers the phone while you are phone banking, you save the party an average of $1.30. That means that  if you are able to have 20 people answer the phone during one session of using VPB Connect, you have saved the party around $26 that can now be used to help our candidates. Imagine if we had just ten people do that in a weekend…that would be $260 saved. For more information on how to use VPB Connect, you can watch a tutorial here:

If you get tired of phone banking, you can switch over to text banking! ThruText makes text-banking so easy by auto-populating the initial texts with each voter’s name and all you have to do is click “send”. Once you have sent the initial texts, the ThruText campaign supplies you with a set of already-written replies that you can use to respond to individuals and convenient survey questions to record data about the voter. The best thing about ThruText is how many voters you can reach in so little time. For more information on how to use ThruText, you can watch a tutorial here:

Take Action

Now that we have flipped our first seat of the year with the help of phone-banking, we need your help even more to ensure that we flip more seats. We want to find more Democrats to help us win in November!

We found more monthly donors last week, bringing us closer to our goal. A commitment of as little as $5 per month or more can make a difference. If you are already a monthly donor, please consider increasing your giving level by an extra $5 or $10.

Psst…hey! Yes, you! You made it to the end of this week’s newsletter. Hooray! As a thanks for being tuned in, please fill out this form and answer this week’s question to be entered in the drawing for some sweet, sweet Democratic merch! Check back in next week’s newsletter to see if you won.

This week’s question is: On average, how much will you be saving the party each time someone answers the phone while you are phone banking?
