Millions of Democrats across the nation are simply thrilled with the news that Kamala Harris is joining the Democratic ticket with Joe Biden.
But as exciting as her nomination is, Sen. Harris herself has been warning our party from the very beginning that we have work to do to win this fall.
In a message just a few weeks ago to millions of grassroots Democrats, she reminded us that “this election is our chance to set our country back on the right path” and that “we can’t forget why this fight is so important.”
Then she called all of us to action, saying “we must elect Democrats up and down the ballot – including in our state legislatures across America.”
Sen. Harris was right then, and she’s right today when she says that “America needs action.”
These elections are our chance to achieve YEARS of progress in states across America, but it won’t come easy: Trump and his allies will give up nothing without a fight – which means that in order to win the historic victories we need this fall, Democrats everywhere have to dig in and fight like never before.
