In less than ten days, South Carolina is hosting the LAST contested special election anywhere in the country before Trump himself faces the voters. And it’s happening at a crucial moment, too – less than a week before the national conventions – when a big win in a Trump-won district will have maximum impact for Democrats up and down the ticket.
Best of all, this race is happening right in the home state of the most vocal Trump enabler in the country – Sen. Lindsey Graham – and with polls showing Graham locked in the toughest re-election fight of his career, flipping a red seat blue in a crucial swing region of South Carolina would deal a MAJOR blow to his chances this fall.
Our Democratic nominee, Spencer Wetmore, needs you help to finish the job in the final week and a half of her campaign. Local Democrats are going all-out to push her to victory, but if we want to make our move, now is our last chance.
Make no mistake: An upset win, flipping a GOP-leaning district right in Lindsey Graham’s backyard, will set off panic sirens from Charleston all the way to Graham’s Senate office.
And that’s exactly what needs to happen. Graham has spent the last three-and-a-half years enabling Trump’s every whim, from helping him pack the Supreme Court with nominees like Brett Kavanaugh to helping rig Trump’s Senate impeachment trial.
If Lindsey Graham is going to be defeated this fall, his losing margin could come from districts just like this one. We CANNOT afford to give Graham a pass in races like this when we have an opportunity to flip GOP seats blue right in his backyard.
