NEW VOTER REGISTRATION INITIATIVE IN THE FACE OF COVID-19
The 2020 election brings greater concern about voter registration and education than ever before due to the continued threat of COVID-19. In response, we have created a Voter Registration Advisory Council in order to help Charleston residents navigate how to register and then vote in November. This group will advise and carry out projects to reach likely Democratic voters that may have trouble registering and understanding the voting process this year. This issue undoubtedly affects our critical groups of young and minority voters, and we are looking for more resources to help us that have insight into reaching these different groups in the coming months.
While registering new voters is a priority every election, we recognize that it is especially important this year given the dangers of the pandemic, which continues to complicate our everyday lives and make activities that can historically be difficult, such as voting, even more difficult. Additionally, we recognize the importance of this election for every level of government: from electing Democrats at the county level to flipping seats in the State House and State Senate to protecting and expanding the Democratic majority in the US House to electing Jaime Harrison to the US Senate to ensuring that Joe Biden is our next president.
We would love to have more people participate in these efforts. Not only is this is a great opportunity to be a part of the Blue Wave in 2020, but it also is a chance to help new people learn about the powerful process of voting. Please contact Tom Iafrate at taimli022@gmail.com if you can help out.

CAN YOU COMMIT $10 PER MONTH UNTIL NOVEMBER?We found more monthly donors last week, bringing us closer to our goal. A commitment of as little as $5 per month or more can make a difference. If you are already a monthly donor, please consider increasing your giving level by an extra $5 or $10. We need to find $1,600 more per month in recurring donations to build a winning campaign.
