THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Stacey Abrams Got Us Fired Up and Ready to Go!
Missouri Dems, you made this event an incredible success! Thank you for hosting watch parties (like the one pictured below), posting selfies, and tuning in in record numbers. We amassed almost 9,000 views on Facebook, over 350 grassroots donors chipped in, and we heard from candidates spanning state senate to congressional races! We’re taking this inspiration with us to August 4th and November 3rd! Keep an eye out for more events like this to come!
EOQ is HERE
We are just 10 days out from the end of the quarter deadline. Get invested in winning in August and November by becoming a grassroots donor today. Don’t forget what’s at stake – expanded voting rights, Clean MO, Medicaid Expansion, the Governor’s seat, Congressional seats, a whole slate of statewide offices, and several flippable House and Senate seats.
Show the MO GOP that we are coming for them.
Wishing you a Peaceful and Reflective Emancipation Day
Yesterday, June 19th was “Juneteenth” or Emancipation Day, a day celebrated since 1865 at the joyous occasion of the last enslaved Americans in Texas being notified of their freedom granted by the Emancipation Proclamation two years earlier. Now is a perfect time to recommit to volunteer or donate toward causes that help marginalized and underserved Americans.

Calling All Notaries!
We are organizing notary publics all around the state who want to volunteer their services in a coordinated effort to notarize every absentee ballot that requires as we head into the August and November elections. Are you a notary and want to join our ranks? Please email your contact info to volunteers@showmechange.org.
Supreme Court Does the Right Thing
We were overjoyed this week to see SCOTUS rule that federal employment discrimination laws do indeed apply to LGBT employees! It was far overdue that you could legally fire Americans simply for being who they are. Unfortunately, our state still allows housing discrimination based upon sexual identity or orientation, so until we pass MONA, our gay and trans brothers and sisters are still vulnerable.
See our official statement here.
The Fight for Medicaid Expansion is in Full Swing
The MO GOP are about to lose their fourth ballot initiative in a row. In just 45 days, we will vote to expand Medicaid in the August 4th primary election. To win, we must organize. It’s going to take phone calls, and text messages, and emails, and postcards. Are you in?
Mark these important dates on your calendar right now:
June 23rd – First day of absentee voting for August election
July 8th – Last day to register to vote in August election
August 4th – Election Day (Polls are open 6AM-7PM)

Be Counted!
Filling out your census is the single most important thing you can do to ensure fair representation for your community for the next decade. It takes only TWO minutes online or over the phone at https://my2020census.gov/. Remember, we lose or gain seats based on these numbers, so please check with your friends and family and share the link above!

You Should Not Need a Flow Chart to Vote in the State of Missouri
Make no mistake – early voting, vote-by-mail, same-day voter registration, automatic voter registration, all these things are on the ballot in November. We know our current Governor and Secretary of State will not expand our right to vote and that’s why we must do everything in our power to elect Nicole Galloway for Governor and Yinka Faleti for SOS.
See below for the (slightly) expanded absentee voting rules. Get your ballot early or make a plan for Election Day. Show up and be counted!
It’s A Numbers Game so Let’s Get More Voters
You can register new Democrats and flip seats all across the state! There are 154,000 likely Democrats out there waiting for a nudge from YOU. Visit our interactive map and click on your county and get your neighbors registered today!
Missouri Democratic Party + “It Starts Today” = A Brand New Legislature
