Welcome to December and the last month before 2020!  We’re happy to announce that our December beneficiary is Sister District Project, an organization we’ve been working with successfully since Lean Left Vermont began.  Hala Ayala, one of our successful Virginia Sister District candidates from says “Lean Left is a powerhouse!”

The Sister District Project works to turn states blue by winning state legislative elections.  Sister District teams such as Lean Left are matched with targeted races in swing districts, where flipping control of the state legislature will help end partisan gerrymandering. This year, SDP teams supported 17 candidates in 4 states. In addition to Hala, Lean Left also supported Larry Barnett and John Bell in VA.

Collectively, Sister District team around the country:

•           raised $735,830
•           knocked 19,324 doors
•           made 208,520 phone calls
•           sent 287,980 text messages
•           sent 201,202 postcards

Sister District Project wants to recruit and support more teams next year. They have set a goal to raise $54,000 before the end of the year in order to hire another full time organizer. Let’s do our part to help Sister District grow!
