Today, Brad Batt announced his run for Tennessee House District 6.  This district is located in upper East Tennessee and includes Johnson City, Fall Branch, Gray, Oak Grove, Spurgeon, and Watauga.

Brad is a local businessman who believes that every Tennessean should have a fair opportunity to a healthy economy and lifestyle.  In his speech tonight he addressed some of the areas that he felt were unfair for his district. He mentioned how many of his constituents fall into the poverty level of ALICE® which is a United Way acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed, also known as the working poor.  Not only do they struggle with making ends meet, they often find themselves uninsured or saddled with medical debt they can’t pay.

As a Tennessean, I’m proud to see qualified, caring, and sincere candidates step up to run in our state and show special interest in the people, instead of the special interests.
