Party with a purpose
Save the date Monday September 16 for our Rally2Win, an evening of entertainment and activism to get us revved up for the sprint to the finish line. Partnering with our friends at Swing Left, Q Force, and Operation Swing States, we’ll have music (including Chicago blues legend Corky Siegel), improv comedy, a cash bar, a crowd of agreeable, like-minded activists, and—here’s the important part—chances to learn about and sign up for a wide variety of action opportunities, myriad ways to make a difference in this crucial election. 6-8:30 at the Vic Theatre on Sheffield. It’s free and everybody’s welcome—bring friends! Learn more and RSVP here

Knock doors with us

Canvassing is the gold standard of voter contact, and our mission is to make it easy and satisfying for everyone, beginners and veterans alike. We pair you with an experienced walking partner; we provide all the training and support you need; we give you a ride if you need one. Our sites are all within about 90 minutes of Chicago.
➔ Sign up to join us canvassing in Michigan Sunday September 22.
➔ Or in Wisconsin Saturday September 14 and September 28
➔ We’re also canvassing in Aurora for Congresswoman Lauren Underwood on Saturday September 21.
➔ Starting in October we’re doubling down, with trips every weekend to both Michigan and Wisconsin. Look here for our complete schedule of canvassing trips.
➔ Not sure about canvassing? Come to our training class, Yes You Canvass, September 30 at Gman Tavern in Lakeview.

Phone bank for a better future

Phone banking is another crucial part of our voter contact effort. It’s more efficient than canvassing—with no travel time and high-speed dialers, we can reach more voters per shift—and it allows us to go far beyond driving range to distant corners of our target swing states. Plus you can do it from home. No shoes required!

We need to make thousands of calls to identify our voters and make sure they cast their ballots, so we’ve just expanded our phone bank schedule for the final push to election day. We call into Michigan on Monday and Thursday afternoons, and into Wisconsin Wednesday evenings and (starting September 20) Friday afternoons.

➔ Sign up here for Michigan phone banks on Mondays and Thursdays

➔ Sign up here for Wisconsin phone banks on Wednesdays and Fridays

We’re also doing voter registration phone banks in partnership with the extraordinary organizers at Rust Belt Rising. They focus on likely Democratic voters who are not registered at their current (usually new) address. These people receive registration packets in the mail and we call to follow up. Easy calls, because the voters are usually grateful for our help.

Late-breaking postcard news

Our regular postcard parties at Gideon Welles in Lincoln Square are full until October 8, but we do have openings for the final month of the campaign. Please note that the September 10 postcard party has been canceled. A new “Postcard PopUP” has been scheduled for September 17 in Edgewater, info here.

Meet us at the Hideout

Thursday September 19 is Blue Thursday, our monthly political happy hour at Chicago’s most highly evolved saloon. We mix, imbibe, and trade political gossip with pols, pundits, and fellow progressives.

This month we’ll discuss the state of the presidential race with

two of our favorite guests: Gregory Royal Pratt, the Tribune investigative reporter and author of The City Is Up for Grabs, a behind-the-scenes look at the tumultuous single term of Mayor Lori Lightfoot; and Brandon Pope, the host of WCIU/Block Club Chicago’s On the Block and a regular on WGN’s Mincing Rascals podcast.

Join us for a drink or two and a lot of lively political talk. Bar opens at 5:30, program goes 6-7. Free and open to all, but please RSVP here.

All these activities and more can be found on the Indivisible Chicago Action Calendar. Check it often!

Friend, we’ll be perfectly frank

We are not about to miss our funding deadline. We do not have a mystery benefactor promising a 100X match. We will not cut right to the chase. But we do need a little money for postage, software, Web hosting, etc. Please, if you can, throw a few dollars into our virtual hat and help us get this job done.
