Our volunteers are hard at work; Republicans are pushing a database on pregnancy; Ohio GOP preparing to purge voters

Friends,

Our volunteers are headed out to talk with Ohioans across the state to hear about the challenges they’re facing, to spread the word about what Ohio Democrats are fighting for, and most importantly, to register voters – especially those the Ohio GOP are purging from our active voter rolls – ahead of this year’s election.

Our grassroots volunteers are the driver behind our ability to reach voters so we can re-elect Sherrod Brown and hold on to our Democratic Senate majority and flip the House. And you know as well as we do the election cascades far past just which party controls Congress. Reproductive rights, workers rights, healthcare affordability, and democracy itself are on the ballot this year.Ohio is a big state. And Republicans have A LOT of money to spend here. So the best way for us to win this fight is to get organized early.

Can we count on you to support our volunteers working to build a better future for Ohio?

Breaking news: Republican Katie Britt is introducing a bill that would create a database of pregnant people. We need to fight back fast – chip in to elect Ohio Democrats who will continue the fight for reproductive freedom.

Here’s what you need to know about this latest attack on reproductive rights:

  • It would collect personal information from pregnant people and enable government officials to “conduct outreach… to follow up.”
  • It would push users towards so-called crisis pregnancy centers that use misinformation to attempt to stop people from obtaining abortions, and keep any actual healthcare facility that provides or refers for abortion care from being listed in the database.
  • It would provide funding for organizations that work to restrict reproductive rights.
  • It’s wrong for Ohio, and it’s wrong for our country.

Earlier this month, the news broke: Republican Frank LaRose is preparing to purge even more voters from the Ohio rolls, after quietly canceling the registrations of more than 25,000 voters just a few weeks before last year’s elections.

Through the Ohio Democrats’ year-round organizing program, we’re mobilizing to fight back. We’ve identified more than 50,000 voters we need to contact who have been purged from the voter rolls, and our network of volunteers is beginning to reach out to them to ensure they’ll be able to vote in November.

But we need your help to keep this program running, and it’s urgent. Please, rush $10 to help us assist GOP-purged voters in re-registering to vote. >>

You probably saw the news that Ohio’s Republican Secretary of state Frank LaRose is prepping to purge Ohioans from the voter rolls ahead of this year’s elections, following his own footsteps from last year when he canceled the registrations of 25,000 voters – under the rug, no less – just weeks before Ohioans would take to the polls to protect abortion in our state constitution.

Here’s what this means for us: We have to mobilize to fight back now.

The GOP is going to do everything they can to silence the voices of Ohioans ahead of this year’s crucial elections.

Our network of volunteers needs your support to stop them.

Thank you,

Ohio Dems
