Bye Bye Majewski (Again)

So…we have good news and bad news.

We’ll start with the good. By now I’m certain you’ve seen that MAGA rapper J.R. Majewski announced that he is dropping out of the GOP Primary for Ohio’s 9th congressional seat. Majewski had wide support from Republicans, with both Bernie Moreno and Frank LaRose endorsing him in December, despite the fact that his 2022 campaign was embroiled in scandal.

I’m personally heartbroken that Kaptur won’t get a chance to kick his a** by double digits again.

So now, the bad. Kaptur’s district, OH-9, has been moved from lean-D to a tossup by the Cook Political Report.

The road to flipping the House runs through Ohio this year, and we can’t afford to lose a single seat. Show your support for Marcy Kaptur and help us send her back to the House!

Retake the House

The Final Debate

If you didn’t want to subject yourself to the pain of watching Bernie Moreno, Frank LaRose and Matt Dolan yell at each other on stage, don’t worry. I’ll give you the rundown of what you missed in the final GOP Senate debate: The candidates were hostile with each other to the point where the moderator was forced to cut-off the candidates’ microphones several times. All three men would overrule the will of Ohio voters and vote for a federal abortion ban.

Moreno cares about Trump more than he cares about Ohio.

Pretty predictable! Let’s check in on what this poser is doing off the debate stage…

Bernie is in Florida…..Again

Millionaire Moreno is jetting back down to Florida, this time for a fundraiser hosted by Don Jr. and his fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle.

It’s a tale as old as time! (A millionaire going to hang out with the Trump family) Entrance to the private dinner is $25,000. Ohio’s MAGA Senator JD Vance will also be in attendance. There’s nothing like sitting through dinner with a group of the worst people in America!

Cookie Monster Weighs In

Here’s a sentence I never thought I would type; this week, everyone’s favorite blue muppet Cookie Monster took a stance against shrinkflation.

Cookie Monster took to twitter to say he is against this practice, obviously for a reason near and dear to his heart!

Senator Brown decided to weigh in. Check it out below:

Sherrod and Cookie Monster clearly have something in common; they believe consumers should get what they are paying for. Do I smell an endorsement coming soon? Or is that just cookies?

International Women’s Day

We’re often forced to observe International Women’s Day in the context of struggle and challenges. This year, we can celebrate Ohio women protecting their own rights by passing Issue 1. Women are making history in Ohio. Last year we codified reproductive rights in our state constitution. This November, we turn the page on the Ohio Gop’s anti-woman attacks by rejecting their national abortion ban and flipping the Ohio Supreme Court. Every day, we’re proud of the women leading Ohio Democrats. From our Congresswomen bringing back results for working Ohioans from Washington, to our majority-woman leadership at the Statehouse, strong women are blazing trails in the Buckeye state.

Until Next Time

2023 was a monumental and hopeful chapter of Ohio’s story that deserves much celebration. But it’s time to turn our focus to 2024. Redistricting and wage are on the line. Control of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House will undoubtedly run through Ohio in 2024. Ohio will also be the only state in the nation with an opportunity to gain control of the state Supreme Court. With two statewide wins under our belt, Ohio Dems are ready to win – again. Consider chipping in to help us win in 2024 and beyond!

If you’re unsure about how much more you can contribute, simply reply to this email. We’d be happy to help.

As always, thank you for standing with us. I am immensely grateful for your partnership.

Onward,

Emily Feltz
Finance Director, Ohio Democrats
