Election 2023 – Abortion Is on the Ballot in Virginia

Write Postcards
Several studies have shown that writing postcards is effective in turning out voters when it is in combination with canvassing, phone banking, and texting. When all these methods happen at the same time, we reach more voters.

Reclaim Our Vote is writing to Black, Hispanic, and Asian-American voters for key races in the November 7 General Election. You’ll need to supply the postcards and stamps; hold and mail between Sept 8 and Oct 25. More info, including how to order ROV postcards and how to request addresses, can be found in THIS DOCUMENT.
Make Calls

Gather Together to Make Calls Phone banking is second only to canvassing as an effective way to engage with voters. We are now holding introduction to phone banking groups where you can find out how this is done AND how rewarding and fun it can be. Get some friends together, and we’ll make time for you. Get in touch with Dana or Rebecca to schedule a day and time.Â
COMING SOON! Join Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia for a phonebank in support of reproductive rights candidates. Their votes will be key to blocking abortion restrictions in 2023 and 2024. Sign up to call with PPAV on multiple days leading up to the General in November!

The road to President Biden’s re-election will run right through North Carolina in 2024. And the state will host one of the most-watched governor’s races in the country. Key to those wins will be Mecklenburg County, which has the most registered Democrats but the worst turnout rate of any county in North Carolina. Learn more about the importance of turning out these non-voting Democrats in 2024 at All In for NC’s monthly meeting: Mecklenburg County 201, Mon Aug 21st at 4 pm. Co-sponsored by Lean Left Vermont. Register here.
August  Beneficiary
Contribute to the Vermont Flood Relief
We are suspending our “Fund the Movement” beneficiary effort this month to focus on raising money for the victims of the devastating flooding that hit our state on July 11. If you have already contributed, thank you. If you haven’t or can spare more, please consider giving generously. We have suggested three general funds listed on our website, but we realize that there may also be many fundraising efforts within your own community. Rebuilding and finding ways we can adapt to climate crisis is going to be a long haul, but as Vermonters, we will pull together to get it done.
