BREAKING NEWS: Our people-powered initiative to establish a “fundamental right to reproductive freedom” in Ohio’s Constitution has qualified for the November ballot!
But while we were rallying behind this critical amendment, Republican lawmakers put forward a measure that would make it nearly impossible for Ohioans to pass citizen-led ballot initiatives – a blatant effort to sink our campaign for reproductive freedom.
Their intentions couldn’t be clearer: If Issue 1 passes, it will make it impossible for voters to restore reasonable abortion laws in Ohio this fall.
Right now, Ohio Democrats are busy knocking on doors and making calls to turn out voters for the August 8 special election. By voting NO on Issue 1, we can save the citizen-led ballot initiative petition process and move one step closer to protecting reproductive rights in Ohio at the ballot box.
