Friday Power Lunch: Going Bold for Women’s History

March 10, 12pm

Fighting injustice can take many forms–helping us to understand issues in different ways and at different levels. Today we will hear from people who are stepping up and speaking out for justice through music, art, and traditional political channels.

Lynne Revo-Cohen (Songwriter and owner of  “I Will Productions”) will share her inspiration for writing songs and producing music videos on key issues of our time. Lynne’s goal is to write and produce music ’til the lights go out!

During the dark days of the pandemic, visual artist and creative soul Sassa Wilkes decided to paint portraits and learn about 100 badass women in 100 days. His project not only produced an incredible body of stunning paintings, but the process had a profound impact on his life. We look forward to sharing Sassa’s art and hearing stories of how badass women never stop being a source of inspiration  


Get ready to shake the table with a candid conversation with Virginia Senate members about the brick wall that stopped the cruel and hateful bills proposed by their Republican colleagues this session. Join Senators Jennifer Boysko, Barbara Favola, Ghazala Hashmi, and Mamie Locke as they share stories of the bold actions they took on issues of women’s rights, trans rights, and more.
