DeWine said he wants to “go as far as we can” to prohibit abortion

2 mins read

Do you know what Mike DeWine said he’d do if Roe was overturned, Erica?

Make no mistake: Mike DeWine is coming for your reproductive rights. DeWine’s extreme record on abortion shows that he will embrace even the most radical of measures, including voicing support for legislation that wouldn’t make exceptions for rape or incest.

This November, we must do everything we can to elect pro-choice Democrats like Nan Whaley.

We let our voices be heard at the Statehouse. Take a look:

On Friday, the Supreme Court released its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Today, I was proud to stand with thousands of Ohioans at the Statehouse to let extreme Ohio Republicans know that we won’t stand by as our most fundamental rights are under attack. Take a look:

Even though Ohio is a pro-choice state, Republicans – from J.D. Vance to Mike DeWine to extremists in the statehouse – have spent years working to strip Ohioans of the right to abortion by enacting new, cruel restrictions that limit access to this essential healthcare service.

Today, Ohioans from across the state made it clear that we won’t stand for it – and we won’t go back. We will fight every day to make sure anyone who needs an abortion has access to it.

This November, Ohioans will take their outrage to the polls to defeat the extremist Republicans who gutted our freedom to choose. Together we can elect Democrats up and down the ballot, from Nan Whaley to Tim Ryan on down.

The people of Ohio deserve a government that supports their hard work and shares their hopes for the future. Our platform represents the Democratic vision for our State, embracing and implementing the dreams of Ohioans. We firmly defend these American beliefs, values, and traditions and are fighting hard every day to elect Democrats who have the experience and ideas to improve our state and who will hold Columbus accountable.
