BLUE JAM 2021
This year Charleston’s renowned Blue Jamboree is returning in person! This is CCDP’s signature event, and this year, we will gather together for this exciting event on Saturday, November 6th, from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Jenkins Institute for Children.
You’ll have the opportunity to hear from national keynote speakers and South Carolina U.S. Senate and Gubernatorial hopefuls. Over the last week, we have announced many of our exciting speakers through social media, including current DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, former SC State Representative and political commentator Bakari Sellers, and former US Senator Doug Jones of Alabama.
With Charleston being in the heart of the Lowcountry, Blue Jamboree brings in crowds from all across the state. Families will have the opportunity to visit Charleston’s top-rated food trucks, enjoy live entertainment and stroll through our acclaimed Blue Jam Village.
Be sure to buy your ticket through ActBlue, which you can access through the top button below.
You can use the bottom button below to sign up to volunteer at the Blue Jam! We are going to need help before, during, and after the Blue Jam, so if you’re ready to volunteer please sign up for a slot (slots are limited though).
If you have signed up to be a volunteer, you can pick up your shirt either Friday 2 PM-4 PM at the Jenkins Institute or on Saturday when you show up for your shift.
DONATIONS AT BLUE JAM
Coming to the Blue Jam? There will be dropboxes for the Blessing Box, the Lowcountry Period Project, and Toys for Tots in the BlueJam Village. Save yourself a trip to the office!
With that said, if you do find yourself near the office with donations for one of these three causes during the office hours (Wednesdays, from 11 AM to 3 PM), we welcome you there as well.
CCDP DATA COUNCIL IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS
CCDP is looking for new members for the Data Council team to start before the end of the year. This is a group of 8-10 people interested in analyzing data, strategizing and figuring out the best way to use the data we have available to get candidates elected. It is a great way to learn more about politics if you have the interest and prepare yourself for futures roles on political campaigns or in leadership as well as to make connections with local politicians and leaders. This is not a data entry team. Some skills that would be helpful are Excel, Mapping (especially ARCGIS), Data Reporting, Presentation skills, Statistical Modeling. If you have prior experience in this political area and/or leadership experience there may be opportunities for leadership on the team in 2022, but if you just have interest in these areas there may be a role for you. Please contact Jeff Ransel (jeff@charlestondemocrats.com), Rob Daniel (rob@charlestondemocrats.com) or Ryan Wright (ryan@charlestondemocrats.com)

Please consider donating the following items so we can continue to support this amazing project!

READY TO RUN FOR OFFICE?
If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please take time to consider running for office. The South Carolina Democratic Party has put out a form for individuals to express interest in running. You may think that it is too early to start thinking about this, but electoral success will require carefully laid out plans, which in turn require time. In addition to the SCDP information that you can access through the button below, here are more resources for women considering a run for office:
