Congressman Gerry Connolly will give us an update from Capitol Hill and will share how the nation is watching what is happening in Virginia.

The issue of paid family leave is front and center this election. Kristina Hagen from the Virginia Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy will share stories from our candidates on how this has impacted their lives.

Social Media Amplification

Reaching out to your friends and family is an important way to help win the November 2 elections in Virginia.

One other way that you can help is by posting on social media. Many people get important information and news from social media. In fact, the average internet user spends nearly 2.5 hours per day on social media! Helping to get our message out on Facebook and Instagram will be an important part of rallying Democrats to vote and winning this election.
Join Progressive Turnout “social media mobilizers” that allows you to receive social media content each day and simply click and share it to your page. It’s simple, it’s fast, and it helps spread the word to vote and #KeepVABlue. Sign up.

Thursday, October 28th 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

ivic Genius will be interviewing David Toscano — a veteran public servant who was a city councilor, the mayor of Charlottesville, and then Democratic leader of the Virginia House of Delegates — about his new book, Fighting Political Gridlock: How States Shape Our Nation and Our Lives.

In his book, Toscano writes that while Americans fixate on the seemingly intractable political gridlock in Washington, the real action is in the states. While few people understand what’s happening in their state capitals, state-level policymakers are responsible for many of the decisions that affect our lives most closely — and this dynamic is profoundly shaping our society.
Watch a snippet of David at the Friday Power Lunch Please register here

Unpack Sessions –

We love traditions at Network NOVA, and like we do every post-election we will be holding unpack sessions around the state. Let us know if you want to help organize or attend. networkvirginia@gmail.com
